I condomini di via Parenzo a Torino vivono da anni un conflitto col comune che vieta loro di utilizzare delle tende di plastica fuori dal balcone per questioni di decoro urbano. Per le famiglie questo è un problema sentito che è emerso da subito negli incontri col designer Dré Wapenaar il quale ha elaborato un sistema per migliorare le condizioni disagiate dei coinquilini e rendere più belle le facciate per il comune. Per i mesi invernali ha progettato una tenda di materiale plastico trasparente a tutta altezza che possa far passare la luce e permetta la visione fuori dal balcone, costituita da pannelli che scorrono lungo dei binari posti in alto e in basso e che seguono l’andamento circolare del perimetro, e che impediscono lo svolazzamento delle tende. Per i mesi estivi ha progettato una tenda interna al balcone, di tessuto più leggero e traspirante. L’azienda Magis ha realizzato per la mostra una serie di prototipi.
Co-owners of Parenzo Street in Turin has been living for years in a conflict with municipality that forbids them to use plastic curtains outside from the balconies due to urban decor matters. For families this is an important problem that came out quickly from meetings with designer Dré Wapenaar, who projected a system to improve co-owners’ diseased conditions and to make finer the facades to the municipality. For winter months he projected a plastic transparent full-height curtain that lets light enter and allow the inhabitants to see outside, consisting in panels that run along tracks at top and bottom, following the circular shape of the balcony, preventing them from blowing about in the wind. For the summer, a further curtain inside the balcony can be used, made of lightweight and porous fabric. Magis company has realized for the exhibit a series of prototypes.
